Toddler Christmas Ideas

This is the kind of post I’ve seen for years and I’ve always wanted to write one. Well, now I feel like I can actually give some advice on what to buy a toddler for Christmas this year. It’s a short list, only 4 items, and it is aimed at a child the same age as mine (18 months - 2 years) as it is what I know best. My two are very easy to please present and gift wise and this is a mixture of what I’ve already gotten them or items they have at home.

I’ve tried to make this pretty low budget, as I know how difficult this time of year can be, espeically with the current cost of living crisis. However some items are more on the pricey side, but I can promise it is a loved item in our home!

Item 1 - Sit on rocking toy

This is a firm favourite in our home! I cannot find the one we have which we got in TK Maxx, so I don’t think they stock it anymore. However, it is well worth making this purchase for your little person! The image is this one from Amazon currently retailing at £42.

Item 2 - Teepee Tent

This is another firm favourite in our home. Freyja especially loves having a place she can escape into, while Niklaus uses it for reading. This one is from TK Maxx and is expensive at £50, however, there is a cheaper similar one in B&M which I found in store.

Item 3 - Books

This is a bit more generic, but there is a deal at The Works where you can get 10 books for £10. I personally use this deal each year for my two and it doubles as being useful for gifts for their friends too!

Item 4 - Sensory and Fidget toys

This seems like an obvious one but sensory and fidget toys make the perfect stocking filler for toddlers. This bundle from Baby Sensory is pretty age-inclusive and also features chiffon scarves which are great for playing peek-a-boo!

Item 5 - Balance Bike

This is perfect for the toddler in your life. This or a scuttlebug can be the best gift for them as it allows them to gain more motor skills and its their first bike. This one is cheap in B&M at £27 (reduced from £30). It’s also the same one I considered for Freyja, but I’ve gotten her a scuttlebug instead.

Also, items like a pram, a dolly and outdoor toys like balls and sand play items can be brilliant as little add-ons. Other little bits I’ve gotten for the twins include a ‘my first laptop’ from B&M, and wee chocolates that they like (dairy-free for the little lady of course!). What are you getting your little one for Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
