The Beginners Guide to Tarot - The Suit of Cups

In my last post, we looked at the suit of wands, now we will be looking at the suit of cups and their cards meanings.

As I mentioned before, the enchanting suit of cups in tarot represents matters of the heart, emotions, and deep connections. With their delicate design and elegant symbolism, cups cards invite us to explore the realm of intuition and the world of feelings. Each card depicts a chalice overflowing with water, symbolising abundance, love, and creative energy. This suit beautifully delves into matters of love, relationships, and emotional well-being.

Ace/1 - new love, new relationship, new happiness,

2 - relationship, romance, love, engagement

3 - friends, celebrations, joy

4 - discontent, apathy, boredom

5 - sorrow, disappointment, loss

6 - nostalgia, generosity, giving

7 - daydreaming, choices, fantasy

8 - retreat, abandon, leaving

9 - satisfaction, happiness, wishes granted

10 - family, celebration, the good life

So there are the key meanings for each of the cups cards! Next we will be looking at the swords! They are another favourite of mine and really help when looking to go deeper into a reading!
