Lets Talk Weight Loss - February 2026

It has been a while since I chatted about weight loss on here. And in fairness I have a lot to update on that topic so lets discuss it.

First big update, which if you follow me on TikTok you’ll already know, is that I’ve started Mounjaro. If you don’t know what that is, its an injectable weight loss drug, that was originally created for diabetics to manage their glucose levels, and it just happens to work really well for weight loss as well. I started using this in November time, and I take 5mg once a week. For me, this has lowered my food noise, helped suppress my overall appetite to a level that means I am eating much smaller portions and I’m finding my overall food cravings reduced as well.

My total weight loss in this time is 1 stone 7 lbs or around 8.5kg, which may not sound like a lot, but before using this medication I struggled to even lose 1lbs a week. This has been amazing for me and for my confidence. I am even down a dress size which feels unreal to me. I’ve actually ordered a few new bits of clothing which I will be showing off on here, which is very out of my comfort zone.

I’ve also started adding in exercise. So obviously with any lifestyle change, especially for weight loss, adding in exercise is very important. For me this started with a group at my local Sure Start. They ran a Zumba style group and while I learned I have no coordination, I did really enjoy it (but maybe not the pains after!) I’ve been trying to figure out the best ways for me to exercise, as I want to find something I actually enjoy. I truly believe if I do find something I enjoy it’ll be much easier to stick to it. I’ve also increased my daily steps, mainly through walking shorter distances instead of using the car to get around when I can easily walk it. These may seem like small things to most people, but it is things I wasn’t doing. And small steps are important when trying to meet a new goal.

I’ll update again in a couple of months when hopefully I’ll have reached the milestone of two stone off! I feel really motivated this time so I’m hopeful this will continue to go well.
